Having spent all year eagerly awaiting the arrival of September's 'Paint my Pet' workshop it seemed to come and go like a wonderful dream. From the idylic surroundings at Unison's headquarters, to the summery weather and the warm hospitality, I thoroughly enjoyed my stay.
The workshop was attended by seven artists who brought images of their pets to paint. We all worked on a paint along demo to start with and before lunch time we had each produced a pastel painting of Rossi the King Charles spaniel.
It is a fantastic experience to get lots of artists working together in a room surrounded by every colour of Unison pastel available. We went through bursts of chat and laughter, followed by peaceful calm when everyone was concentrating hard! After a home made picnic styled lunch we had a full afternoon of painting followed by a tour of the Unison colour factory.
I think everyone left with some new pastels from the shop, having drooled on every colour first trying to choose!
I hope everyone who attended left with some fresh inspiration, a burst of motivation, and the tools to make great art.
